Surf surf, Surfin’ Santa!

Hundreds of people in Capitola Village rushed to meet Santa today! Where? At the BEACH, of course…! 
The rains did not hold back the crowds who celebrated the 20th year of welcoming Surfing Santa, as the old elf and antler-wearing “reindeer” paddled ashore in an outrigger canoe!
This year, Santa pulled a Hawaiian shirt over his wetsuit. After kids welcomed Santa, they joined him on the Esplanade stage (where he was seated on his beach chair) to sit on his knee. To help keep both kids and their parents warm, Whole Foods brought cookies and hot chocolate, while Woodworm party supplies decorated the Esplanade with balloons! The Christmas lists had items ranging from stickerbooks to a “fluffy puppy.”
