It’s not just about “ugly” Web sites, anymore!
Carly Fiorina, the former CEO of Hewlett Packard (HP), the architect of one of the arguably worst mergers in tech history, forced out of HP with a $21 million severance package, long-time non-voter, announced officially today that she will run as a Republican against Senator Barbara Boxer (D-California) (if Fiorina wins the Republican primary).
I will ask again: “Can’t we do better than Carly Fiorina vs. Barbara Boxer, or EITHER side? 
“
Suddenly, it’s no longer about an “ugly” Web site (now, only HALF a Web site, since part of it throws a “404” error tonight)! Is it a coincidence that “404” used to be Silicon Valley slang for “clueless” (or WORSE!)?

Looking at the potential race as a former Midwesterner provides some insight. People in California view races like Fiorina vs. Boxer as NORMAL. People in other parts of the country view California races like Fiorina vs. Boxer as ENTERTAINMENT! Politicians in California really don’t know how extreme they are, or if they DO, they view it as a GOOD thing! Pretty scary, if you think about it….
If the race does materialize, I guess that I will have to fix a big bowl of popcorn and sit down in front of the TV with the Mac on my lap on election night.
After all – it’s entertainment with which I will be forced to LIVE for quite some time….
