Livermore Art Crawl tonight!

As Pablo Picasso said, “Good artists copy; great artists steal!

Tonight is a Livermore, CA Art Crawl night, 6-9 PM, and Cheshire Cat Photo will be at Main Street Designs downtown.

Now to the “stealing” part – Linda Ryan of Ryan Fine Art posted the following information about tonight’s Crawl, which has displays at 12 locations:

“Art Crawl, with displays, exhibitions, and open studios in 12 locations in downtown Livermore to be held this Friday, July 30th, from 6-9pm in downtown Livermore. Small enough to grab something to eat along the way and still see the show, but interesting enough to make it a treat.

Participating locations include:

  • ABC Music Source – with the Abstracted and Surreal landscape photography of Garrett Roads and Amanda Simons; ABC rocks and so do their artists.
  • Art Glass Studio – exhibiting fine, colorful macrophotography by Jennie McGregor, color-charged watercolors by Karen Fleschler, and Glass Art projects by Art Glass Studio students and owner, Roberta Jones. Cool studio, and a great place to start the Crawl (corner of 2nd & L – easy parking!).
  • Breakfast Stop at First Street Alehouse – on the patio, spiritual paintings by Linda Stewart, and also check out Angela Johal’s always lovely works inside (as well as checking out the new restaurant at the old alehouse digs!!!)
  • Main Street Designs – Wonderful William Hackett, exhibiting his fine landscape photography; say hi to Dennis and Sherri, the store owners, and check out their offerings, all the way to the back of the store.
  • Not Too Naughty – James Courtney is drawing your free caricatures all night – stop and get one done! NTN is also offering free adult toys and other specials – check it out! NTN’s new manager has made a big difference, from the window to throughout the store.
  • Old Firehouse Building – This is not a guided exhibit, but we’d like you to take a look at the mural-in-progress by Vera Gordeev with assist from Kean Butterfield. This is the first City of Livermore Art Commission mural, and we’re all happy to see it coming along!
  • Orghipchick – Tina Woodward, new to the area, does interesting hard-edged abstracts with a contemporary feel and interesting color work. Plus, Orghipchick is just cool.
  • Outside In – Owner Nickie Branco does some lovely photography and digital play – and we love to browse the place, too.
  • Panama Red – our totally favorite coffee shop – get in there before the musicians start setting up (they play at 8 PM) to see “Intersections”, an exhibit started by RFA intern and buddy, Arthur Barinque. We’re planning to expand on the exhibit in the future and create larger juried exhibits in other locations – so check it out and see the beginning!
  • Proctor’s – Wonderful framing shop, and owner Anna Gordon Pope is displaying her lovely handmade jewelry. Also displaying is Vera Gordeev, the head artist on the Firehouse Mural project, with her works of art (and if you are interested in a mural, I’m sure she’d be glad to talk with you about it)
  • Ryan Fine Art – We are proudly displaying “Outrageous Claims”, the works of Sean Paul Lorenz, a super creative and interesting metal sculptor, along with thick, edgy, wonderful paintings by Eli Slaydon. The two grew up together in Petaluma, and this is your chance to see a co-exhibit by these two talented young men before Eli takes of for grad school at NY Studio School. We’ve never seen a show like this in Livermore. You gotta see it. Plus, I set up my working space in the back and am squeezing in a bunch of work behind the screens.
  • Sanctuary Ultra Lounge – we love this lounge, the tapas, and we totally love Trish Fenton and her collage works. You should check it out!
  • Ultra-Spective – the best photography studio in the tri-valley (and a really cool old building) is exhibiting the works of Lia Cecaci; photography, of course!
  • Wild Vine – Great place to stop for a glass of wine and often some music, and interesting art – this time from Taylor Common. Enjoy!-linda ryan

Enjoy! (And please forgive the theft, Linda…!)
