Johnson & Johnson heiress dead at 30 in LA
Casey Johnson, the heiress to the Johnson & Johnson fortune, was pronounced dead at the scene, after police and firefighters were called to her home in Los Angeles at 11:51 AM Monday. Police officer Sara Faden noted that the death appeared to be natural, with no evidence of foul play. There will be a toxicology report from the coroner’s office.
An openly gay socialite, Johnson leaves a toddler daughter Ava, whom she adopted, and her partner, reality star Tila Tequila, who announced their engagement in December. Tequila announced Johnson’s death on Twitter. Johnson was the great-great-granddaughter of the founder of the pharmaceutical giant and the daughter of New York Jets owner Robert Wood Johnson.
Johnson’s body will be “flown back east to her final resting place” after a private funeral with immediate family. Her family said that people can make donations in her membory to the Casey Johnson Memorial at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Casey Johnson struggled with the disease throughout her life, according to a family spokesperson.
