Origins

I finally stumbled across what must have been the origin of U.S. Senator Everett Dirksen’s quote, “When a member of the House moves over to the Senate, he raises the IQ of both bodies.”

Even more importantly for this blog, the original quote was about California, “When the Oakies left Oklahoma and moved to California, it raised the I.Q. of both states.” – Will Rogers

No offense meant toward Oklahoma….

If you are going to steal, steal from the best!
