San Francisco by cable car

San Francisco, from Twin Peaks

Today, CNN posted a story to guide San Francisco visitors in the exploration of “The City” by cable car!

I still love to ride the cable cars. So do 7.5 million other people each year! (Seven and a half million people can’t be wrong, except maybe in elections!) :-)

The article describes the three cable car lines: the California Line, the Powell-Mason Line, and the Powell-Hyde Line, as well as tips for avoiding crowds and for obtaining tickets.

As for me, I have come to enjoy hanging onto the poles while standing on the sides of the cars (watch out for traffic, including other cable cars)! The view is better and the experience is unique. I really enjoy riding on the cable cars after dark! (As Dirty Harry Callahan said, “Sometimes you meet a better class of people in the dark.

Take a look at the CNN article about the sights along each line. Then, the next time that you are in San Francisco, give’em a ride!

(While you’re at it, check out the Cable Car Museum, too!)
