ArtWalk Livermore 2009 impressions
Today was a very busy day for me! I awoke at 5:45 AM, before my alarm went off. Today was the 8th Annual ArtWalk in Livermore, California!
The morning was cool, and my booth, once assembled, was shaded. Gradually, the day warmed to a beautiful, sunny October day in the low 70s F.
People seemed hurried – more hurried than at the Harvest Wine Celebration. There was a lot to see, with over 150 artists (Note added October 21, 2009: 175!) participating in the ArtWalk! (Note added October 11, 2009: The only bad thing about having a BOOTH at ArtWalk is that I got to see ALMOST NONE of it! 
)
I met a lot of really wonderful people and made some sales. I am concluding a sale with an out-of-state buyer that did not occur at the ArtWalk. We need to have better ways of concluding credit card transactions. No doubt, “there’s an app for that!” 
I met some folks whom I did not expect to see today: the Dean of Students at a nearby Middle School (one of my favorite schools) and a couple of kids whom I met at Dublin High.
There were also a few odd sights: although Livermore is not Las Vegas, “The King” was here today (my first “Elvis” sighting in Livermore!), as well as a woman walking with a large, white, tropical bird on her shoulder! Nearly EVERYONE, including me, TRIPPED on a low step that the City of Livermore included in its entrance to Flagpole Park.
All in all, it was a beautiful fall day in Livermore, with people happy to be enjoying the weather and the many sights and sounds of another ArtWalk. From my location in the heart of downtown, ArtWalk 2009 looked very successful, indeed.
