“Peanuts” celebrates its 65th anniversary!

On October 2, 1950 (yes, that is BEFORE I was born :-) ), the Peanuts comic strip appeared in NINE newspapers, nationwide. “When its run ended in 2000, over 17,000 strips had been published in 21 languages for 355 million people worldwide. “

Peanuts was the creation of Charles Schultz, who lived in the Bay Area from 1958 until his death in 2000. Although his first studio was in Sebastopol, he later moved to Santa Rosa, which is home to the Charles M. Schultz Museum today.
