Kaiser Permanente employee data breach

Kaiser Permanente experienced a security breach that may have exposed personal information of its 29,500 Northern California employees. No Kaiser members or their medical information were accessed during the security breach.

Identity fraud has already been reported by a handful of employees as a result of the breach. Kaiser is notifying its Northern California employees. The company, based in Oakland, CA, is offering one year of free credit monitoring to anyone who is affected by the breach.

Police in San Ramon notified Kaiser in late January that they had arrested an individual who was not a Kaiser employee and who possessed a file with data that looked like Kaiser human relations data.
