Sure, the Steve Jobs biography hit the stands today.

If any of the “revelations” surprise you, YOU have been delusional.

I will not “speak ill” of the dead; even with his ENTJ faults, Jobs was a brilliant marketer.

Yes, I would love to buy the “book” and read it on my 17-inch MacBook Pro.

So far, I see no way to DO that. iBookstore works only on iOS.

I see the absence of the iBookstore app from MacOS as a defect, not a product differentiator.

Frankly, I resent it. Not the message to send to long-time Mac-and-Apple supporters….

My first iOS device will be an iPhone, when the device can work on Verizon LTE.

Apple has “refreshed” its MacBook Pro line today with small-but-important increases in storage, speed, and the power of their graphics. The entire line – 13-inch, 15-inch, and 17-inch MacBook Pros has been upgraded, with NO increase in price!

Just the facts:

13-inch

• Entry level now has a 2.4 GHz Core i5 CPU and a 500 GB hard drive.
• The $1,499 MacBook Pro now has a 2.8 GHz Core i7 CPU and a 750 GB hard drive.
• Both have 4 GB of RAM.
• Intel HD Graphics 3000 onboard video.

15-inch

• The $,799 MacBook Pro has a 2.2 GHz Core i7 CPU and the hard drive stays at 500 GB.
• Graphics have been upgraded to Intel + AMD Radeon HD 6750M card with 512 MB RAM.
• The $2,199 model has a 2.4 GHz Core i7 CPU and 750 GB hard drive. Its graphics are Intel + AMD Radeon HD 6770M with 1GB RAM.

17-inch

• $2,499 MacBook Pro has a 2.4 GHz Core i7 CPU and a 750 GB hard drive.
• It has 4 GB RAM standard.
• Graphics are Intel + AMD Radeon HD 6770M with 1GB RAM.

As always, go to the Apple Store online to configure the system of your dreams, if the standard configurations don’t suit you. Some of the options available may include a larger hard drive or solid-state storage, RAM up to 8 GB (UNIX loves RAM!), and video card improvements (and other goodies).

Someday, I’ll have to replace my wonderful MacBook Pro. Please buy lots of products and services from Cheshire Cat Photo! 😉
