Microsoft patch for Internet Explorer (IE) flaw

Microsoft has released a patch for a critical security flaw in IE 7, IE 5.01, IE 6, and IE 6 sp1. The flaw in IE 7 has been exploited using the AZN Trojan, which can then be used to download other malware.

Let’s all hope: that the patch resolves the vulnerability, that the patch gets applied broadly, and that the patch does not introduce any unexpected consequences.

Even those of us who would never use IE unless we were forced to (usually by well-meaning but uninformed employers :-) ) would like to see less malware out there.
