Some free $50 BART passes for military personnel

Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) is the first transit agency in the United States to hand out free transit passes to military personnel, in its Military Pass Program.

BART allocated $50,000 worth of free BART tickets will give a $50 ticket to a number of the service members on leave from Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom.

To me, this looks like a good idea that could (and should!) be copied by other transit agencies in the U.S.
