Twitter hacked by “Iranian Cyber Army?”

I noticed that Twitter appeared to be down this evening, so I checked on CNET.

Sure ’nuff!

A person/organization named the “Iranian Cyber Army” has claimed credit for hacking Twitter tonight!

Stay tuned.

(Actually, the way things have been going lately, the spelling should be “Stay tooned!”) :-)

(Note added December 18, 2009: TechCrunch has followed this story closely and has provided several updates, as well as the suggestion to change the password on any other accounts that use your Twitter password.)

(Note added December 20, 2009: The CNN Senior editor for Middle East affairs says that the Twitter hackers appear to be a Shiite group.)
