The Decade’s “Top 10 Internet Moments”

The group that runs the Webby Awards today announced what it considers the 10 most influential internet moments of the 2000s. According to CNN, David-Michel Davies, the executive director of the awards said, “What the most important moment in the world is a broad question.”

To me, it is VERY interesting how many of the events occurred in California.

The group does not rank the events in an particular order. The Webby staff is taking nominations for the 14th annual awards through December 18.

The list below, in chronological order, was picked by the Webby staff after choosing from the list of awards that they have distributed since 2000. You can read the “expanded” discussion of each in the CNN article. I have included hyperlinks of my own so that you can read more about the choices.
