Coincidence?
A more personal entry today –
I have said before that I am not a strong believer in “coincidence,” but that I am capable of distinguishing coincidence from causality (most of the time). 
The past few days, I have been working with my brothers on family-related matters and also thinking about my high school class reunion that is coming up. My focus has been on “family” and “history.”
Today, I received an email from a woman I have never met who is the “family historian” for a branch of the family in Ohio with which we had very little contact while I was growing up, mostly because their “branch” of the family tree diverged from ours a few generations ago.
There are several other reasons, which I won’t discuss here, that NOW is a particularly fortunate time for me to hear from that other branch of the family in Ohio.
One of the things that I have done in my life is to computerize and combine three branches of my family tree that existed only on paper. Since I use Macintosh, I have used the very thorough, excellent, and versatile program “Reunion” (not an endorsement). I have also added photos of headstones and people and the GPS longitude and latitude of graves in the family data base.
I have proposed that the woman in Ohio and I combine our family trees. She has proposed much of the same.
I am eager to hear her response with regard to some details, and I am eager to carry on.
