Different worlds, but all California!

Sometimes, just to keep the coverage of my blog entries from being too “Bay Area-centric,” I like to look at news in www.latimes.com (and other places) to see what is going on in other parts of California.

Sometimes, (like tonight) it can seem like many different worlds, in terms of the “news of the day.”

An example: the Ink-N-Iron Festival occurred aboard the Queen Mary in Long Beach and attracted tattoo and hot rod enthusiasts to three days of “bands, burlesque, beer, and unparalleled people-watching.” I am not sure why the photo gallery is highlighted on the LA Times site NOW, since the festival was held June 5-7, according to the festival site. If the news itself is a little dated, the photos are timeless, or at least, priceless. :-)

Photos include folks from Las Vegas, Santa Barbara, Wasco, Bakersfield, Los Angeles, Tujunga, Austin TX, San Diego, Oberhausen Germany, Brisbane Australia, Hollywood, Riverside, La Puente, Torrance, and Victoria South Africa.

Hot rods were displayed in the Spruce Goose Dome.
