Bear market? Go for chocolates and champagne!

San Bernardino County Sheriffs got a call about a vicious animal in the 1000 block of West 25th Street in San Antonio Heights, California. A couple arrived home to find a bear eating in their kitchen!

The bear had opened the refrigerator and pushed aside vegetables to get to a two-pound box of chocolates, which it devoured. The bear also tried to open a bottle of champagne unsuccessfully, but you know how that is sometimes…. :-)

The bear let itself out before the sheriffs arrived by working a lever to a door and tearing a screen. The homeowners had locked themselves in a back room, waiting for the sheriffs.

The Department of Fish and Game is patrolling the area to catch the bear.
