Antarctic Ice
As reported by several news groups yesterday, a chunk (160 square miles) of Antarctic ice. about 7 times the size of Manhattan. collapsed yesterday. The British Antarctic Survey scientist, Professor David Vaughn, attributed the collapse to global warming. A large part of the Wilkins Ice Shelf on the Antarctic Peninsula is now supported only by a thin strip of ice between two islands.
