The hedge-fund-manager-turned-pharmaceutical-CEO, Martin Shkreli, has raised the price of the 60-year-old anti-parasite medication, Daraprim, from $13.50/pill to $750/pill!

Shkreli founded the company, Turing, in February, and the company bought the U.S. marketing rights to the drug in August. According to SFGate.com, Shkreli told Bloomberg TV that he raised the prices because his company “need[ed] to turn a profit on the drug.”

What? You say. What is arrogant about THAT? :-)

Shkreli tweeted out an Eminem line in response to criticism of the huge increase by The New York Times. SFGate.com posts the tweet:

If you would like to follow this… ahem….”gentleman,” you can do so. As for me, I’ve experienced enough arrogant CEOs.
