Some people are “suckers for surveillance.”
I am a sucker for navigation and maps.
Google Field Trip is an app that can recommend landmarks or restaurants as a person travels. Sure, it has been around for Android devices since last September, but so have a lot of mobile malware programs. Now the app exists for iPhone and iPad. I just downloaded it from the Apple App Store. I also downloaded an app called “Wanderous” to check it out, as well. According to LATimes.com:
“Field Trip can help you learn about everything from local history to the latest and best places to shop, eat and have fun,” the app’s description says.
What could be more natural for a company like Cheshire Cat Photo, “Your Guide to California’s Wonderland!™”???
After you download the app, you can choose how often you want to be notified and HOW you want to be notified! You can also see notes on a map. You can also choose to have the app READ the notification ALOUD (something I might like, but which would drive people near to me, quite crazy )!
So be on the lookout for more tidbits about California as I travel with my new tool on my iPhone 5! The app is free and requires iOS 6.0 or later.
