Go figure! 😉
As I write this, there is snow falling on Mount Hamilton (home to Lick Observatory), in Santa Clara County, and snow may fall tonight on the tops of Mount Diablo and the Santa Cruz Mountains. According to The Santa Cruz Sentinel:
“With how cold the air is, it is entirely possible,” said weather service meteorologist Austin Croff.
Croff said the cold weather the Bay Area is experiencing will continue throughout the weekend, with some intermittent breaks in the rain.
The rain will not go away anytime soon, either, Croff added, as things will remain “unsettled” into next week.
The cool weather (after spending 1973-1980 in Madison, WI, I am experienced with the use of the word “cold,” 
and I will use it appropriately) will range from the low-to-mid-50s F through the day and drop to the low-to-mid-40s at night.
If you are hoping for a White Christmas in the San Francisco Bay Area, however, Good Luck!
