CA governor Jerry Brown challenges NJ’s Chris Christie to fitness contest!
California governor Jerry Brown has challenged Chris Christie, “the rotund governor of New Jersey” to a fitness contest after Christie’s “dig” Monday, saying that he couldn’t believe Californians chose “an old retread” over Meg Whitman (another Harvard Business School graduate – I am close to blaming Harvard Business School for the overall “backward” nature of business in America; it seems to be a recurring theme in stodgy companies).
“Old” jokes? Really? 😉
In addressing the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 770 in Los Angeles today, Brown poked at Christie’s less-than-fit physique:
“There’s nothing wrong with being a little retread,” he said. “I don’t have as much hair, and I’m slowed down a little bit, but I’ve got to tell you, I ran three miles in 29 minutes two nights ago.”
“I hereby challenge Gov. Christie to a three-mile race, a push-up contest, a chin-up contest,” Brown said. “And whatever he wants to bet, I have no doubt of the outcome.”

I really do not expect Chris Christie to take Brown up on the offer.
