“Local Views” art show at the Bankhead Theater, Livermore, CA
Tonight, I attended the public reception at the Bankhead Theater (Google Map) in Livermore, looked at all of the marvelous entries in the “Local Views” art show, and spent a good bit of time catching up with local painters and photographers. The Local Views show runs from June 7 to July 31 and “takes in a lot of turf,” all local! 😉
The entry criteria for the juried show were:
Open to 2D Artists within 50 miles of Livermore, California. We are interested in your interpretation of “Local Views” – this can be internal, literal, plein aire, landscape, fanciful, creative, interior, traditional or otherwise. If your work does not obviously fit within the theme, please ensure that your statement explains adequately how your work should be understood to be considered for exhibition.
Tonight, the awards were given at the reception. The judge for the show was Angela Johal, a distinguished and versatile local artist and one of the Art Commissioners of the City of Livermore.
I won’t give too much away about the show, but I recommend it highly. I think that you will enjoy the breadth of the show and the variety of media and styles. I enjoyed the show very much. Local Views will be viewable during regularly scheduled events at the Bankhead.
