5 Guitars stolen from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers in Culver City!

Five guitars that belong to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers were STOLEN from a Southern California soundstage in Culver City, California, where the band has been rehearsing for an upcoming tour. The theft from Culver Studios, a “sprawling complex” of 16 soundstages west of downtown Los Angeles, was reported on Thursday according to Culver City Police Sergeant Dan Sukal. According to SFGate.com:

The stolen guitars include Petty‘s blond 1967 12-string Rickenbacker and his Gibson SGTVJunior, Mike Campbell‘s blue Dusenberg<sic>, Ron Blair‘s Fender Broadcaster and Scott Thurston‘s 1967 Epiphone Sheridan<sic>.

Steal his 1967 Rickenbacker 12-string? People, have a little CLASS!

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers is known for a string of hit singles that include: “Don’t Do Me Like That,” Breakdown,” and “American Girl.” Their tour starts in Broomfield, Colorado on April 18.

The band has offered a “no questions asked” reward of $7,500 for information leading to the return of the instruments.

Return the Rickenbacker! (And the Duesenberg, at the very least… heck, return them ALL!)
