Border Patrol arrests North Hollywood man wanted for murder!

Oscar E. Aguilera of North Hollywood was arrested when he walked up to the Otay Mesa border crossing between California and Mexico at around 11:15 PM on Wednesday night. After agents examined his California driver’s license and ran his fingerprints for verification, Border Patrol agents learned that Aguilera had an outstanding no-bail felony warrant for homicide that had been issued by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).

Aguilera was turned over to LAPD detectives.

Bruce Ward, assistant port director of the Otay Mesa Passenger Port of Entry said:

“Immediate access to our law enforcement database is crucial. We maintain the security of our communities by using these databases to catch fugitives with active warrants, no matter where those warrants may be issued from.”

In 2011, the San Diego Field Office caught 2,046 fugitives with active arrest warrants.
