Funky Cold Justice?

Well, IMHO you’d be HALF right.

Rapper Tone Lōc, 45, known for such hits as “Wild Thing” and “Funky Cold Medina” pleaded (NOT “pled!” :-) ) no contest today to corporal injury to a spouse in a June 18 domestic violence incident and to illegal possession of an unregistered “assault weapon” (a Colt AR-15 Sporter; otherwise known as a semi-automatic rifle in most places outside California. An article about AR-15 variants is here.). The semi-automatic rifle was found by Burbank police officers during the investigation of the domestic violence incident and was not used in the assault.

There is ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE for domestic violence.

There is also no excuse for unconstitutional firearms laws, of which California has a BUNCH! (Or for the now-expired Federal Assault Weapons Ban of 1994….)

Superior Court Judge Patrick Hegarty sentenced Tone Lōc (AKA Anthony Smith) to one day in county jail, three years of formal probation, 30 days of community service, and 52 weeks of anger management counseling. Smith did not negotiate a plea deal and accepted the judge’s sentence, according to Deputy District Attorney, Michael Stewart.
