How stylish! The 15 Worst-Dressed Men of Silicon Valley!
GQ has once again shown itself to be clueless with regard to Silicon Valley attire, in its article “CTRL+ALT+DEL: The 15 Worst-Dressed Men Of Silicon Valley.” From its quotation of a Windows keystroke series, GQ just MAY be as clueless with regard to operating systems, too! 😉
One of my managers in high tech was equally clueless, but he was a Myers-Briggs ENTJ, so he was always RIGHT! (Many of the “well-dressed men” in the article are probably ENTJs, too, but at least they’ve learned how to dress comfortably!) I once explained to my manager that folks who do NOT dress in blue jeans and T-shirt on the job (at least occasionally!) often suffer from a lack of credibility, whether they actually KNOW what they are talking about, or NOT!
Such folks would lose all credibility irretrievably, if they should ever wear a TIE! (Even the women…!) My manager had none to lose. (One of the folks in the article is [sort of] wearing a tie!)
So… from embroidered cowboy shirts to a beret fetish, from Jobs to Gates (who only comparatively recently moved any operations [beside “intelligence gathering”] to Silicon Valley), from Adobe to Zuckerberg, just lean back and flip through the photographs of Silicon Valley business “leaders” or set a “dwell time” and run the slideshow.
Then go back and ponder your investments.
