“Alice in Wonderland” wins an Oscar

Of COURSE it does…! :-)

Colleen Atwood, who designed the costumes for “Alice in Wonderland” (2010) won an Oscar for Costume Design at tonight’s 83rd Academy Awards. Atwood has won Oscars TWICE before, for “Memoirs of a Geisha” (2005) and “Chicago” (2002). Atwood has been NOMINATED for an Oscar NINE times!

This year, Atwood competed against Jenny Beavan for “The King’s Speech,” Antonella Cannarozzi for “I Am Love,” Sandy Powell for “The Tempest,” and Mary Zophres for “True Grit.”

The Academy Awards are taking place at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood as I write this and are being televised on ABC.

You can follow the Awards Tracker on the LATimes online.
