Arnold signs Calfornia state budget
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed the $145 billion (USD) California state budget today. The budget includes a $1.7 billion reserve fund.
Governor Schwarzenegger signed the budget in a small ceremony in his Sacramento office. There will be a number of painful cuts to spending.
Significantly, several ideologues of the General Assembly, mostly of the “Left” this time, who had failed to pass a budget for over 2 months, were quick to criticize Governor Schwarzenegger for the compromise budget that was signed. If they had only been so quick to PRODUCE a budget in the first place….
At this time, the budget is mostly an abstraction. In the months ahead, we will see its practical implications for the state of California.
