TWO San Francisco landmarks in world’s TOP 10 “must see” list!
I said it before in this Blog, but I often joke that, raising two kids in Ohio, we could not afford to VACATION in California, so we had to MOVE here! 😉
TWO of San Francisco’s landmarks made it to the TOP 25 “must see” landmarks in the WORLD! (TOP 10, actually!) Anyone who has visited San Francisco can understand why.
The first, of course, is the Golden Gate Bridge (above, high-resoltion image here, in our Gallery).
According to TripAdvisor’s annual Travelers’ Choice awards, thousands of travelers happen to feel the same way. The Golden Gate Bridge joins such stunners as the Taj Mahal and St. Peter’s Basilica on the list of top global landmarks.
To determine the winners, TripAdvisor examined reviews from travelers all over the world during a year-long period. The algorithm considered both quality and quantity of reviews for each destination.
But wait! There’s MORE. San Francisco is the only city in the Top 10 to boast TWO favorite global locations, which explains why we hear so many different languages among visitors!
So… what is the Number 8 attraction on the list, which actually BEAT the Golden Gate Bridge (Number 10)?
And the bridge isn’t San Francisco’s only contribution to the list; Alcatraz actually earned the honor of the best U.S. destination, which makes San Francisco the only city recognized in the top 10 to boast two favorite global locales, confirming our long-held assumption that S.F. is in fact the greatest city in world.
